This
was our second to the Fuerteventura Princess our fist visit being about 7 years
ago. The hotel is more like a large village set on a hillside with the main
reception bars and restaurant located at the top of the hill and the 2/3
storey accommodation blocks in the grounds below the layout would-be problem for the
less mobile. The only differences we noticed this time were the Palm Lounge off the
main reception the full drown palms which were about 20 ft tall have now been
replaced with new plants. The comfortable cane chars in the Coco Loco Bar but
the rocking mechanism has been locked. Also the chocolates on the pillows only
appeared on a couple of nights as opposed to every night on our previous
visit, we did however get the free bottle of bubbly for returning guests.

The room was as we
expected very clean and comfortable the only problem being a noisy AC unit but
as the temperatures were not excessive we didn't need to use it so it was not a
problem. The grounds and pools were still immaculate and well maintained and the
vegetation was a lot more succulent since our last visit. There was some sun
bed hogging although this is not allowed by the hotel we never had any problem
finding beds but it could be a problem for families with young children wanting
the more suitable spots or large groups.
We found the food
excellent, loads of variety (It could be a problem for those who consider
sausage egg and chips an evening meal) We ate breakfast alfresco every morning
at La Choza the restaurant that overlooks the beach where they serve late
breakfast from 9am.the bacon was better here than I have had in many UK
hotels. But you need to be aware that the Germans are out in force claiming
the best tables well before 8.30am The Gods however did provide us with the
perfect newspaper headline which we used all week to reserve a table

We find the location
ideal but for those who like to be straight out to bars and shops it will be a
disappointment. The hotel staff are very professional but because of the size of
the hotel it can be difficult to establish a close friendly relationship. We
did not attend any of the night time entertainment on this visit but there are shows
and disco most nights. There is also an enthusiastic animation team
for daytime activities. Drinks and snacks can either be paid for in cash or
charged to your room and settled on departure.
The hotel and resort are predominantly German but we
find this an advantage rather than disadvantage. There was only one problem my
wife who is a mosquito magnet was bitten overnight in the room, we have been to
Fuerteventura several times and the only place where she has been bitten is at
this hotel, this could be possibly having had ground floor rooms on both occasions
and following heavy downpours on each occasion. However this still
remains our favourite hotel on the Island and if we return which is likely we
would request an upper floor room.
